The New Thought movement resurrected itself in the 19th Century, but really is ancient and goes back to the teaches of Buddha, Jesus and many other mystics throughout time. New Thought states that Infinite Intelligence, God, Spirit is everywhere present and expresses Itself through all of creation. There is one Unified Field of unlimited potential. Our True self is Divine and perfect. New Thought promotes the idea that our mind is a creative force. It is done unto us as we believe. Our mind can be a force for good, and right thinking has a healing effect. The highest spiritual principle of New Thought is to love one another and to realize our Oneness with all. We are entangled in the one Unified Field, the One Mind.
New Thought is not delegated to any religious doctrine or creeds or churches. It is a way of thinking, a way of believing, a way of living. However, there are specific religions that base all of their teachings on New Thought. They are: Science of Mind or Religious Science, founded by Ernest Holmes; Unity Church, founded by Myrtle and Charles Filmore; and the Church of Divine Science Founded by Nona Brooks and Malinda Cramer.
Today, you will find the New Thought Philsophy everywhere. Many modern day teachers and scientists such as Dr. Joe Dispenza, Tony Robbins, Wayne Dyer and many others use the philosophy and science that found its roots in New Thought. The findings of quantum science are now proving the power of our consciousness in the healing process and in the manifestation of our daily lives.
To practice New Thought one must be willing to embody the idea that thoughts are things and that in any moment by changing your thoughts you can change the motion of your life in the direction of your choosing.
